1962- 50 years ago, the Lotus 25 monocoque.

50 years ago made its debut the first Formula 1 with a monocoque chassis.
It was at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort on 20th May. Jim Clark qualified third but finished only 9th. The following race in Monaco he would start from Pole Position.
The 1963 British Grand Prix is shown here.

  1. Nice picture, it shows the 25 at Zanvoort 1962 with the trade mark Yellow "wobbly wheels" however my recently purchased Spark model has black wheels.
A search on Google images is proving inconclusive. any ideas anyone.

  2. Thank you for your comment. I tried to draw the Silverstone (the version I like most) model but I explained more or less the debut.
My main data source is the "AutoSprint History of F1 (1950-1982)", there you can find the numbers of the drivers race by race.
